PEEMADI as an institute is into research and development of power equipment such as step down transformers, inverter, generators as well as electrical machinery such as photovoltaic cells and generation simulation labs, electric switch gears and digital signs with the aim of transferring the acquired technology to small and medium scale enterprises.
Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI) was established in 2004 as an institute that is a section of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) under the federal ministry of science and technology (FMST) in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Currently PEEMADI Okene has a Staff strength of over 100 comprising of Engineers, Scientists, Technologists and Administrative.
