Product and services from january 2012 to date AND COST OF COMMERCIALISE R&D PRODUCTS

1. Title: 15 kVA Step Down Transformer (415/220V)

  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: step down 415V-3phase alternating current (AC) to 220V-3phase (AC)
  • Features/ area of application:  Designed to satisfy the power requirements of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) equipment installed at the various Development Institutes of NASENI nationwide whose original power specification is 220V, 3 phases, 50Hz.
  • Constraints: financial constraint for mass production.

2.  Title: 5 kVA Transformer-less Voltage Stabilizer

  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: regulate any incoming voltage within 100V to 260V to and output range of 215±15V
  • Features/ area of application:The stabilizer has a lighter weight and low power loss as a result of absence of transformer. Applicable to all appliances that require stable voltage supply.
  • Constraints: financial constraint for mass production.

3. Title: 15 kVA, 3 Phase Automatic Voltage Regulator

  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: Regulate 3-phase voltage within 100V to 260V to 3-phase 225±15V
  • Features/ area of application: A central voltage regulating unit, eliminating the need for individual AVR for each electrical appliance. Regulates the voltage supply of an entire building whose entire load capacity does not exceed the rated KVA
  • Constraints: financial constraint for mass production.
  • Title: 15 kVA DC-AC Inverter
  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: Operates in two modes, backup mode and the normal mode. In the backup mode (in advent of electric power failure) from the mains, it inverts DC to AC to supply electricity to the load. In the normal mode, the inverter charges the Battery bank and supplies the load directly from the mains.
  • Area of application: To any electrical appliances to constant electrical power supply
  • Constraints: financial constraint for mass production.
  • Title: Automatic Load Isolation Device (ALID 1.0)
  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: An electronic device that automatically carries out load shedding when using an alternative power source of lower capacity by means of frequency (transmitter and receiver).
  • Features/area of operation:  This device is designed to protect Generators or inverter from over loading without human intervention and is applicable in all homes
  • Constraints: financial constraint for mass production.
  • Title:100 kVA, 11/0.415 kV Distribution Transformer
  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: step down 11kV, 3 phase to 415V 3 phase.
  • Features: has tap changer, breather and oil measuring guage
  • Constraints: financial constraint, awaiting transformer manufacturing lab and high voltage lab for mass production
  • Title: Table Drilling Machine
  • Picture
  • Modes of operation: electrical operated for drilling.
  • Features: auto reverse control.
  • Constraints: financial constrain

PRODUCT AND SERVICES FROM MAY 29, 2015 TO DATE

The following are projects highlights for 2015/2016:

  • Inverter with Built-in Stabilizer (Transformer-less Type), Inverter with Built-in Stabilizer (Core Type).
  • 1.5 kVA Solar Inverter.
  • 1.5 kVA Solar Garden.
  • Biometric-based Attendance Management System (Fingerprint type).
  • Automatic Load Isolation Device (ALID 2.0).
  • Micro-hydrosystem project.

The entire projects passed through proposal presentation and designs have been completed for item 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Only item 4 and 5 have been completed and have since been deployed. Biometric-based Attendance Management System (Fingerprint type) is currently in use for attendance system in the institute (figure1).

Automatic Load Isolation Device (ALID 2.0) is an improved version of ALID 1.0 which was deployed to the headquarters. ALID 2.0 (figure 2) used power line carrier communication as against frequency communication used by ALID 1.0.The ALID 2.0 comes in socket and distribution box format

The micro-hydro power project is an on-going project; due its multidisciplinary nature, various team that cut across mechanical, electrical and civil engineering were raised and research work has commenced on turbine design, generator design and site surveying to locate a suitable site has commenced as shown in fig 3.
